Pair in court on shooting charge

Two men appeared in court today charged with shooting dead a man.

Younis Sagir, 22 and Ozan Toprak, 27, stand accused of murder following the killing in Langham Road on February 1.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Armagan, a Turkish national from Hackney, died from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Sagir, of Wood Green, north London and Ozan Toprak, 27, of Tottenham, north London, spoke only to confirm their details when they were brought before Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning.

Their case was committed to the Old Bailey for a hearing on Tuesday.

Deputy Senior District Judge Daphne Wickham remanded the pair in custody and said: "This matter has to go to the Central Criminal Court."
