Wednesday 18 November 2009 01:00 GMT

The estranged husband of a woman who was left dying in the street with one of her hands cut off has been arrested. Geeta Aulakh, 28, was found in Greenford, north-west London.

Investigators believe she was attacked shortly after leaving work to pick up her two young children on Monday evening. She was found a short distance from the front door of her childminder. Witnesses said she had a serious head wound and a hand had been cut off.
