Murder trial is told of teenager's 'gang rape'

A teenager who survived being shot in the head told a court that she and a friend were abducted, raped and abused by a gang of men and left for dead. Her friend, Mary-Ann Leneghan, died from multiple stab wounds.

The 19-year-old woman told the jury at Reading Crown Court as she faced the six men accused of the attack that she and Mary-Ann were dragged from a car in a pub car park. She said sherecognised two of the accused. She said she was blacking out as they were taken to a hotel room, where they were tortured and sexually assaulted for three hours, before being left for dead in a park.

The court has been told that Adrian Thomas, 20, known as "Redz", of Battersea, south London, arranged the attack on Mary-Ann because he was convinced she deliberately left the door to his Reading flat unlocked, allowing him to be robbed and assaulted.

The womansaid she was forced to perform oral sex on three of the men.She said Mr Thomas boiled a kettle, put water and sugar in a cup and threw it over her. She said Mary-Ann was subjected to 45 minutes of sexual attack and they were forced to smoke crack.

Mr Thomas is accused of murder, attempted murder, kidnap, rape and grievous bodily harm. Llewellyn Adams, 24, of Balham, south London; Jamaile, 22, and Joshua Morally, 23, also of Balham; 19-year-old Michael Johnson, of Southfields and 18-year-old Indrit Krasniqi of Chiswick, all face similar charges. Joshua Morally has admitted two counts of kidnap but denies murder, attempted murder, rape and grievous bodily harm. The other defendants deny all charges.
