Man in his eighties arrested after woman found stabbed to death in Norfolk
Police were called to a bungalow in Brooke on Sunday morning
A man in his eighties has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found stabbed to death in a Norfolk village.
Police officers were called to an incident at a bungalow in Brooke at around 10.30am on Sunday.
The victim, who has not been named but was known to the suspect, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Norfolk Constabulary said the arrested man was detained at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and would be taken to a police investigation centre for questioning in the nearby market town of Wymondham.
Detective Inspector Chris Burgess said: "Clearly we are still in the early stages of our investigation and our enquiries remain ongoing.
"However, it appears that the suspect and the victim were known to each other and we do not believe there to be any threat to the wider public."
A police cordon has been put in place at the address in Churchill Place while officers carry out their enquiries.
Neighbours told the Eastern Daily Press that it was a quiet community of mainly elderly and disabled people living in sheltered housing.
The village of Brooke has a population of around 1,400 and was the birthplace of turkey tycoon Bernard Matthews.
