Police are hunting the killer of a wealthy businessman shot dead at his home in Surrey.
The body of Daniel Blackett, 36, a self-made millionaire, was found at his house in Thorpe Green, near Virginia Water, at 8.20pm on Saturday. A Surrey Police spokeswoman said Mr Blackett, who lived with his partner, their son, 11, and baby daughter, had been shot "several times".
It is believed Mr Blackett had gone to get his car out of the garage when he was shot. His children were in the house with their grandmother who had arrived to babysit while Mr Blackett and his partner, Nicola, went out.
Neighbours said Mr Blackett had owned Blissland Lodge for five years. One, who asked not to be named, said: "The house is set on an estate of about five acres. He was about to spend several million building his luxury dream mansion in the grounds and had just obtained planning permission."
