21-year-old man charged with manslaughter after Camberwell teenage girl stabbing

Victim not yet formally identified but she and suspect were known to each other, police say

A 21-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after a teenage girl was fatally stabbed.

Oluwaseyi Dada, of south east London, was due at South London Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police were called to a house on Brisbane Street, Camberwell, at 12.15pm on Thursday, 12 July, to reports of a stabbing.

London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance were also called but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Domenica Catino, from the Metropolitan Police's murder squad, said: “A young woman has been fatally attacked and a 21-year-old man arrested at the scene.

“The suspect continues to be questioned by detectives and detailed enquiries including forensic analysis continue.”

The victim has not yet been formally identified, but police said she and the suspect were known to each other.

Her next of kin has been made aware of the girl's death and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
