A man who was stabbed to death following a snowball fight was named today.

Anthony Finbar Burke, 20, was attacked in Clos y Berllan in Rhuddlan, near Rhyl in North Wales, last night.

A 19-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by detectives.

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened after an argument broke out.

A force spokeswoman said officers were called out at 10.30pm following reports that a man had been seriously injured in the street.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Glan Clwyd Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The spokeswoman said it was believed he was involved in a snowball fight.

She added that Mr Burke's family have asked for their privacy to be respected.

Officers are conducting house-to-house inquiries in the area and are keen to speak to anyone who saw a group of youths in the street between 10pm and 10.30pm last night.

The incident comes just days after a snowball fight in the US ended up with a policeman drawing his gun.

Video footage showed the off-duty officer brandishing the weapon in Washington DC on Saturday after his car was apparently hit.

Around 200 people had gathered to take part in the mass snowball fight.

The officer was later slapped down by his boss, Washington DC Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier, who said his actions were "totally inappropriate" and that he had been put on desk duty pending an investigation.
