A man’s body has been found on the tracks at Battersea Park station in south London.

British Transport Police (BTP) have confirmed that the station was shut while police investigated the body that was discovered at 7am.

Officers are now trying to identify the man and say they are treating the incident as “unexplained”.

BTP told ITV: “We were called to Battersea Park station at 6.58am following reports of a body on the line.

“BTP attended alongside medics from London Ambulance Service and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are now working to establish how the man came to be on the tracks and inform his family.

“The incident is currently being treated as unexplained.”
