Man run over and shot in 'targeted' attack in Glasgow
Victim is now in a serious but stable condition in hospital
A man has been seriously injured after being run over and shot on a Glasgow street in broad daylight.
The 29-year-old victim had reportedly just parked and left his Audi car when a white Mitsubishi 4x4 “deliberately” knocked him down on Royston Road, Glasgow, at around 6.30pm.
An unidentified man left the Mitsubishi and shot him while he lay on the ground before “erratically” driving from the scene.
Police, who have launched a probe into the “targeted” attack, are conducting door-to-door inquires in the Glasgow area and urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.
"It is imperative that we catch those responsible for this attack,” Detective Inspector Ogilvie Ross, of Greater Glasgow CID, said.
“Thankfully no-one else was injured but it is very obvious that those responsible did not have any thought for the safety of the locals.
"Royston Road is residential with lots of people about, especially at that time of the evening, and to discharge a firearm in that kind of area, and especially at that time, is absolutely outrageous."
The unidentified victim was reportedly taken to hospital and his condition is now described as serious but stable, the BBC report.
