Man in court charged with PC's murder
A man appeared in court today accused of murdering a former policeman with a knife.
Daniel Williams, 30, of Dythel Park, Trimsaran, West Wales, spoke only to confirm his name, age and address when he appeared before Llanelli Magistrates' Court this morning.
Williams is accused of the murder of Geoffrey Harries, 49, after an alleged attack with a knife outside his home, also in Dythel Park, on Saturday.
Harries had been due to stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court next week accused of downloading more than 2,000 indecent images of children on to his computer.
He resigned as a long-serving police constable with Dyfed Powys Police in March after the allegations against him became public.
Williams was remanded in custody until June 20 to Swansea Crown Court.
