Detectives investigating the dissident republican murder of a policeman in Northern Ireland today arrested a man.
The 22-year-old suspect is being questioned about the shooting of PC Stephen Carroll in March.
Three people have already been charged in connection with the married 48-year-old's murder, which was claimed by renegade group the Continuity IRA.
The man was taken into custody in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim this morning. He is being held at the police's serious crime suite in Antrim town.
PC Carroll, an officer with almost 25 years' service, was gunned down in Craigavon, Co Armagh just two days after the Real IRA shot dead two British soldiers outside Massereene army base in Antrim.
Sappers Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London were murdered as they collected a pizza delivery at the gates of the compound. They were hours from flying to Afghanistan to commence a tour of duty.
Two other soldiers and two pizza delivery men were injured in the gun attack.
Two men have so far been charged with the sappers' murders.
