A man has died after being stabbed near a Tube station during rush hour in west London.

Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of the 18-year-old who was taken to hospital following the attack on High Road in Ickenham, West Ruislip shortly after 5.30pm on Monday.

A man aged in his twenties has been arrested and is being questioned at a west London police station.

The victim has not yet been formally identified, Met police said, but his family has been informed.

High Road will remain closed in both directions between West Ruislip Tube Station and Aylsham Drive until at least midday, Scotland Yard said.

West Ruislip Tube station remains open.
