Man fights off robbers armed with nunchucks in CCTV footage
Unnamed owner used the martial arts weapon to defend his motorbike from two masked thieves
CCTV footage has been released of a man defending his motorbike from thieves with a pair of nunchunks.
The unnamed 46-year-old owner ran out of his house carrying the martial arts weapon when he saw the two suspects attempting to steal his bike Croydon, south London.
One of the suspects, armed with a screwdriver, attacked the man and grabbed hold of his nunchucks but he was able to fight them off during the incident at around 1:30pm on 10 December.
The attackers, who were wearing ski masks, then fled on foot when neighbours rushed to his aid leaving the bike behind.
Police have now released the video in the hopes that anyone may come forward with information.
Detective Constable Ania Casey, of the London Metropolitan Police, said: "If the owner had not locked his motorbike with a heavy chain, his bike may have been taken in seconds.
"Those extra minutes were sufficient enough to alert the owner and his neighbours to deter the two suspects."
One suspect is described as wearing a dark jacket with a red logo on the back, black trousers with a blue line down the side, black trainers with white soles and gloves.
The second wore a dark jacket with a grey top, dark trousers, black trainers with white soles and a helmet with a Nike tick on the back. No arrests have been made.
Police have urged witnesses to call officers on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
