Man arrested after woman found dead in Bath, Somerset

A man has been arrested after the body of a woman was discovered earlier today.

Police said officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a property in the Bennett Street area of Bath, Somerset shortly after midnight.

The body of a woman, who was in her twenties, was discovered and a man, who was in his thirties, was arrested.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Officers have confirmed they are keeping an open mind into the woman's death, pending the outcome of a post-mortem examination, which is still to be held.

"A man in his thirties has been arrested in connection with the incident and continues to be questioned by police, who have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."

A cordon has been set up and house-to-house enquiries are being carried out.
