Lorry driver caught reading by police while driving down Manchester motorway - video
The lorry driver was eventually stopped and fined
A lorry driver has been caught reading his book while driving down a motorway in Greater Manchester.
Officers from the Greater Manchester Police secretly filmed the motorist as he made his way down the M60 near Sale.
The driver was eventually stopped, and given a fixed penalty notice as part of an initiative by the GMP to cut down on dangerous driving in the area.
The Operation Tramline scheme sees police drive in unmarked HGVs fitted with cameras and secretly film motorists breaking the law.

The campaign has so far seen 71 motorists stopped for traffic offences, with 66 of those being issued with tickets and one vehicle being seized.
GMP Inspector Susan Redfern said: “Of course most drivers don’t give into this temptation but since road works are due to continue on the road until 2017, it is important that we make sure that this motorway remains safe for everybody to use and we believe this operation will help us step up these efforts.”
