One man was stabbed to death and another died after being attacked in the street during a night of violence in London.

The first victim, aged 54, was found injured following reports of a fight in Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, shortly before 6pm on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital with assault injuries but died just over four hours later. Two people have been arrested, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Officers were then called to the scene of a stabbing in East Ham, Newham, at around 11.07pm.

A man, believed to be in his late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene near the junction of Ron Leighton Way and Wakefield Street.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses and information.

It came on the same day a heavily pregnant woman was stabbed to death in Thornton Heath, Croydon.

Kelly Mary Fauvrelle, 26, was found injured after police were called to an address in Raymead Avenue at around 3.30am on Saturday.

Her baby was delivered in the street and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

In a separate incident, police were pelted with missiles when they responded to a stabbing in the borough of Hackney on Saturday night.

Scotland Yard said they were called to reports of a man brandishing a knife at the Woodberry Down Estate near Finsbury Park at around 11.30pm.

Specialist officers and the police helicopter were called in to help deal with “spontaneous outbursts of disorder”.

A man and a woman were taken to hospital for treatment. Residents claimed the incident was related to a large street party in the area, on the UK’s hottest day of the year.
