Man, 71, charged with murder of woman in Chessington, south-west London
Met Police officers were called in the early hours of Saturday morning due to concerns for the welfare of a woman in south-west London.
A man has been charged with the murder of a 48-year-old woman in south-west London.
Metropolitan Police said they were called in the early hours of Saturday (October 31) due to concerns for the welfare of a woman at an address in Ranyard Close.
A 48-year-old woman was later pronounced dead at the scene. New Scotland Yard said her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, and homicide detectives are leading the investigation.
Keith Bettison, 71, also of Ranyard Close, Chessington, has been charged with murder and will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Monday.
