King George Dock: 10 people found in container in Hull

Three were hospitalised, ambulance service says

Ten people have been found alive inside a container at a dock in Hull, according to authorities.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said that three people have been taken to hospital from the scene.

None of those discovered are in a life-threatening condition, police said.

“Officers are currently in attendance at King George Dock in Hull after a number of people have been found in a container at the dock,” Humberside Police said.

“Some of those found are in need of medical treatment, although none of those are thought to be in a serious or life-threatening condition.”

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said they were called to King George Dock at around 11.30am on Tuesday.

“We sent two rapid response vehicles, three emergency ambulances, two doctors and our Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene,” a spokesperson said.

“We transported three patients to Hull Royal Infirmary and seven patients were checked over on scene but did not need conveying to hospital.”

Last year, 39 bodies were discovered in a lorry in Essex, triggering a police investigation into an alleged human trafficking plot.

The provisional cause of death for the Vietnamese nationals was a combination of suffocation and overheating in an enclosed space, according to Essex Police.
