Joy Morgan missing: Police arrest man in connection with hunt for student last seen on Boxing Day
'It doesn't matter what has happened, just come home,' says family
A man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of missing student Joy Morgan.
The 40-year-old from London, who has not been named, has been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Ms Morgan, a Hertfordshire University student, was last seen in Ilford, east London on Boxing Day.
She was reported missing on 7 February, five days before her 21st birthday.
“This is a complex missing person investigation and we are working hard to establish the circumstances surrounding Joy’s disappearance,” said Tannis Perks, of Hertforshire Police. “Understandably her family are extremely worried about her and are desperate to know that she is OK.”
The student wears glasses and is described as black, of slim build, around 5ft 5in tall, with black afro-style hair which she often covers with a scarf.
Ms Morgan’s family issued a special appeal for her return on her 21st birthday.
“We love you, we miss you,” they said in a statement. “Wherever you are, text or call so that we know you are alright. It doesn’t matter what has happened, just come home.”
The student has links to Ilford, Battersea and Cricklewood in London, as well as Bedfordshire.
“I would like to appeal to Joy to get in touch to let us know that she is safe,” Ms Perks said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101.
