Ipswich hospital on lockdown after a man was 'stabbed outside' in the car park
Another reported stabbing took place around the same time on the other side of the town
Ipswich hospital was reportedly lockdown after a man was stabbed outside in the main car park.
According to witnesses, the suspected assailant got in a van after the attack before fleeing the scene.
Police responded to a report of a suspected stabbing just after 1:30pm to the hospital on Heath Road where a heavy police presence remains outside the Garrett Anderson A & E centre.
Witnesses have claimed the victim was found collapsed on the pavement outside the hospital entrance with serious injuries, the Mirror reports.
About 15 minutes before Police were called to the hospital, Ipswich police received a report of a suspected stabbing in the West Meadows area near the A14.
A man has bee arrested in connection with the earlier incident while detectives are making inquiries as to whether the two incidents are linked, the Ispwich Star reports.
A spokesman for the Suffolk Police said: "Police officers are on the scene of both incidents and inquiries are underway to determine if there are any links between the two."
Police are asking anyone with information call 101 and quote reference number 222 for the West Meadows incident ore 231 for the Ipswich hospital incident.
The current condition of the two victims has not been revealed.
