Ian Watkins and former girlfriend discussed abusing children while having sex, court hears
Joanne Mjadzelics is on trial accused of possessing and distributing indecent images
A woman discussed abusing young children with jailed former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins as they had sex, a court has been told.
Joanne Mjadzelics, 39, is on trial at Cardiff Crown Court accused of possessing and abusing indecent images of children. She admits possessing indecent images but claims she was trying to expose Watkins' criminality – a possible defence.
The singer was sentenced to 35 years in prison in December 2013 for a series of child sex offences including the attempted rape of a baby.
Those offences were not connected to Mjadzelics, who allegedly sent indecent images of children to Watkins and encouraged him to send one to her, the BBC reported.
The jury was played parts of a 2008 sex tape allegedly labelled “Jo paedo talk Cardiff”, which they were told was recorded when the pair were in a relationship.
Jim Davies, a lawyer for the prosecution, told the jury that the pair discussed their desire to abuse children and Mjadzelics said she wanted to kidnap and rape them.
The prosecution then read out parts of an online conversation in 2011 where Mjadzelics allegedly said: “I want everything we ever talked about.”
She denies four counts of possessing and two of distributing indecent images of children and one count of encouraging and assisting the distribution of an indecent image of a child.
The trial continues.
