'Husband held' over wife's disappearance
Police were searching for the body of a wealthy guesthouse owner yesterday, acting on suspicion the woman had been murdered after a divorce battle over a pre-nuptial agreement.
Joanne Brown, who runs an award-winning bed and breakfast in Ascot, Berkshire, was reported missing at 8am on Monday after disappearing from her country mansion.
Following a search, police arrested a man in his forties from the Windsor area on suspicion of murder. Police confirmed he was known to Mrs Brown, 46, who had been married twice. He was named in reports as her second husband, Robert Brown, an airline pilot.
Forensic investigators cordoned off the house and grounds of Tun Cottage, which borders Windsor Great Park, and began hunting for clues surrounding Mrs Brown's disappearance.
