Husband held after wife found strangled

Police have arrested a husband in connection with the murder of his wife three days after he vanished following the discovery of her body.

Vicky Roberts, 25, was strangled and her body was dumped in a garage at their home in Runcorn, Cheshire, on Thursday night.

Police issued an appeal to find the whereabouts of her husband Michael Roberts, 26.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: "Following police enquiries a 26-year-old man has been arrested in Wrexham and police appeals for Michael Roberts are now cancelled."

He is due to be taken back to Cheshire where he will be quizzed by detectives.
