An HIV-positive woman who flicked her infected blood at two men has been sent to jail.

Chanelle Miller, 34, attacked the two bailiffs after they arrived at her home in Bilston to recover the cost of a parking ticket which had been unpaid for eight months, a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

After Bryan Wall and Dean Allen entered the property a scuffle ensued in which Miller claimed a glass she had been holding smashed, cutting her hand, while the bailiffs argued she tried to stab one of them after deliberately breaking the glass, the Express and Star reported.

She then began flicking blood from her hand at the men, who fled to her bathroom until police arrived.

Footage from Mr Wall’s body camera showed Mr Allen wiping away blood with a towel, while Miller could reportedly be heard threatening to keep “flicking” and warning them to “get your blood tested”.

After an ambulance team arrived, the men were warned they may have been exposed to the HIV virus.

Both were later tested for HIV and found not to have contracted it.

Miller was convicted of administering a poison or noxious substance with intent.

However, she was cleared of attempting to wound Mr Allen with broken glass.

She was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay a £170 victim surcharge.

“It was quite clear you wanted them to understand they were in danger. It took three months before they were given the all clear by the hospital,” Judge Michael Challinor said, according to the Express and Star.

“This was a sustained attack. It is clear you intended to flick the blood at them.”

The judge also rewarded the two bailiffs £500 each, which will come out of public funds.
