Three teenagers have been shot and taken to hospital in north London, with one in critical condition and another facing possible life-changing injuries, police have said.

Metropolitan Police detectives have appealed for information following the shootings, which are thought to have occurred on Willan Road in Haringey early on Thursday morning.

One victim, a 19-year-old man, is said to be in a critical condition, while a 15-year-old boy has possible life-changing injuries.

Police said a third person, another 15-year-old boy, had injuries which were not thought to be life-changing or threatening.

Detectives believe the gunman arrived in a car, carried out the shootings and then left in the scene in the same car.

However, no arrests have been made at this time.

“Young men have been shot, one is critically injured and another has injuries that may mean his life has changed forever,” Detective Inspector Gemma Alger said.

“We want to stop these acts of violence and we can only do this by people telling us what they know.”

DI Alger added that she was “extremely grateful” to those who had already come forward with information but said police still needed more help with the case.

“I want to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen a car driving around prior to the shooting, or saw it being driven erratically from the scene,” she said.

“Even if you don’t think you saw anything suspicious, if you were around and have any dashcam footage we want to hear from you.

“You can be reassured that anyone calling police will be fully supported.”

Commander Paul Brogden, from the Met’s Frontline Policing, said officers would leave “no stone unturned” in pursuing those responsible for the shootings.

“This was another appalling crime, where three young black males have become victims in our capital city, two of whom are actually children,” Mr Brogden said.

"The Metropolitan Police will leave no stone unturned to bring to justice those responsible, but we need the help of Londoners to break this cycle of violence.”

Anyone with any information on the incident has been asked to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter (@MetCC), quoting CAD 297/23JUL.

People can also give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
