Milton Keynes schoolgirl kidnapped by man in van
'This was a distressing and frightening incident,' says police officer
A 14-year-old girl in Milton Keynes has been bundled into the back of a van by a man on her way home from school, then dumped more than three hours later in a lay-by, police have said.
The teenager was emerging from an underpass in Bletcham Way, Milton Keynes, shortly after 3.40pm on Thursday 15 November when a man pulled her into a dark blue van parked in nearby Elgar Way.
She was found by the side of the A5 near the Flying Fox pub in Potsgrove, Bedfordshire, about six miles from where she was taken, at 7pm that evening.
Detective Inspector Jason Simpson, of Thames Valley Police, said: "Thankfully the victim was not injured however this was a distressing and frightening incident for her and she is being supported by officers.”
He appealed for anyone who saw the girl, who was wearing a school uniform, or a suspicious male to come forward.
Police described the suspect as a white man with a flesh tunnel earring in one ear, wearing a black beanie hat, grey trousers and grey top.
Mr Simpson added: “I appreciate these incidents will concern people in the community, so residents may notice an increased presence of uniformed officers in the area. If anyone has any concerns, please approach and speak to an officer or you can call 101.”
