Police recover 'Freddy Krueger glove' dumped in knife amnesty bin
Knife crime in London has increased
Police have recovered a Freddy Krueger-style weaponised glove in a west London amnesty bin.
The metal glove had four blades attached to the end of its fingers.
The weapon is apparently similar to that used by the killer from the Nightmare on Elm Street films to dispatch his victims.
Photographs were posted by West Drayton Police to social media.
“There are knives and then there is this,” it said.
“Safely dropped off anonymously in the knife bin in Uxbridge Police Station.”
It added the hash tag “#noknives”.
Resident Denis Hart said: "So Freddy Krueger lives in Uxbridge - brilliant, I just moved here last year thinking it was a safe place to live."
Knife amnesty bins are in operation around the capital as part of Operation Sceptre, which aims to tackle violent crimes using bladed weapons in London.
Knife crime has increased nationwide, according to the Office for National Statistics, but London has seen the highest spike.
