Scotland Yard has launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead at a west London estate.

Police were called to reports of a shooting at Exeter House in the Feltham area shortly after 11pm on Friday night.

Armed police officers and crews from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance found a man – believed to be aged in his 20s – critically injured at the estate.

The man, who has not yet been formally identified, died at the scene a short while later.

It is the fourth episode of gun violence on the streets of London in the past week, and the second fatal shooting following the killing of Eniola Aluko, 19 – shot dead in Plumstead on 14 June.

A 17-year-old boy was shot and injured in Tulse Hill on 16 June, and a 28-year-old man was wounded in a gun attack on 17 June.

No arrests have been made at this stage, but Metropolitan Police detectives have begun their enquiries and a crime scene remains in place at Exeter House in Watermill Way.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed of his death and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 9535 / June 21.
