Driver bailed over tobogganing death
A driver who was arrested after the death of a teenager in a tobogganing accident has been released on bail, police said.
Father-of-one Anthony Farley, 19, of Bettws, South Wales, slid down a hill on a plastic sheet and collided with a car at the bottom.
A 23-year-old friend who was riding the makeshift toboggan with him at the time was taken to hospital with head injuries.
The tragedy happened on Sunday afternoon in an area known as Armoury Hill, near Ystrad Deri.
Mr Farley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gwent Police later revealed that the driver of the car had failed to stop at the scene of the accident.
Officers later arrested a 34-year-old man from the Tredegar area on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A spokesman said today that the driver had now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
