The 17-year-old Russian also suffered months of abuse at the hands of the man who bought her from sex traffickers so he could use her in the sex industry.

Natasha- not her real name - said: "He told me: 'Don't think about running away because I will find you and I will kill you'."

Last week, Niki Dimitrov, 29, was jailed for six years in the first prosecution here for controlling a child prostitute under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Natasha said she had answered an ad in her local newspaper last year that promised "well-paid work abroad". She was sent money and the necessary documents to travel to Belgium where she learned that her waitressing job in Spain had fallen through. Instead a sex-trafficking cartel forced her to work as a prostitute, but after two months she was attacked and begged to be set free.

She was released but only into the custody of Dimitrov, who made her work as a prostitute in London.He also posted pictures of her on the internet describing her as "probably the youngest escort girl in London".

She said Dimitrov vowed to kill her if she left before paying back the £4,000 he said she owed him.

"He was forcing me to have sex with him and when I said I didn't want to he would beat me up," she said. "He would hit me with his fist. Once, I wasn't able to work for one and half weeks because of the visible injuries."

Her ordeal came to an end last June when police raided a brothel in Sudbury.
