Concrete block dropped on car

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a "bucket-sized" block of concrete was dropped on to her car on a busy road.

Police are treating the incident on the A12 in Essex, in which a woman suffered fractures to her face and ribs and internal injuries, as attempted murder. Gary Sanderson, of the East Of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, said it was a "despicable act".

Forty minutes earlier, a similar-sized concrete block dented the bonnet of another car.
