A pupil at one of Britain's top public schools has been arrested over child porn allegations.
Police interviewed the 16-year-old boy, from Charterhouse School in Godalming, Surrey, after he was arrested last Thursday.
It is believed his computer and other materials were taken away for examination.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: "A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Godalming on March 22 on suspicion of making indecent images of a child. Following interview he has been released on police bail."
A spokeswoman for school said: "Charterhouse confirms that a pupil has been questioned by the police about material alleged to have been found on a computer."
It is not known if the teenager has been suspended from the school, which was founded in 1611 and charges more than £30,000 a year for boarders.
It teaches boys from 13 to 18 and girls from 16 to 18.
