Cantona's kick victim guilty of assault
A man who was famously kicked by Eric Cantona at a Crystal Palace match 16 years ago was found guilty yesterday of causing actual bodily harm after he punched a man at a children's football game.
Matthew Simmons, 36, of Thornton Heath, Surrey, attacked Stuart Cooper, the former manager of his son's football team. Simmons was given a six-month jail term, suspended for two years, as well as 150 hours of unpaid work in the community by Kingston Crown Court.
