Boy remanded over Facebook post

A teenager has appeared in court charged with encouraging others to riot by posting on Facebook.

Alexander McQuarrie, 16, is accused of breaching the peace by creating a public group on the social networking site on August 8.

The teenager, from Ibrox in Glasgow, was charged with conducting himself in a disorderly manner by inciting others to riot in Glasgow on August 12.

He made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He was remanded in custody for further examination and is due back in court next week.
