Boy faces court over rape of woman, 64

A teenage boy was due to appear in court today accused of raping a 64-year-old woman in her own home.

The 17-year-old, from Nelson, in Lancashire, was charged by police last night in connection with the sexual assault that happened during the early hours of October 28.

Lancashire Police said the attack took place at the home of the victim in the Chatham Street and Pendle Street area of Nelson.

The youth, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, will appear before Burnley Magistrates' Court this morning.
