Baby found abandoned in bushes
A three-hour old infant was saved from what would almost certainly have been death from hypothermia yesterday when she was found left under bushes by three teenage boys.
The girl, swaddled in a pink blanket, was found at around 1.30pm in the playing fields of Daubeney Middle School in Kempston, Bedford. The teenagers immediately took the child to the nearby Bedford Hospital South Wing, where medical staff, who believe she was born shortly before lunchtime, set about warming her up.
Bedfordshire Police have launched an appeal to find the child's mother, who they say may need medical attention.
