Armed police officers today arrested four men for suspected terrorism offences after raids in north London.
The men were arrested in Barnet and Finchley in the early hours of this morning under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act and are being questioned at a central London police station.
Anti-terrorist police supported by armed officers raided two addresses in Barnet and one in Finchley.
Two of the suspects were arrested in a vehicle in High Road, Barnet.
The road was closed off this morning while officers checked the car and searches were continuing at the three addresses.
The men were being questioned over suspected links to Islamic terrorism.
The four men arrested are aged 31, 37, 58 and 63, however their nationality is still unclear.
They are being questioned at London's high security Paddington Green police station over alleged links to terrorist activity in the Middle East.
It is not thought they are linked to terrorist activity in the UK.
The three addresses still being searched today - two in Barnet and one in Finchley - remain cordoned off.
Police did not recover any firearms from the car in which two of the four men were held.
