Angela Davey: Former history teacher involved in county lines drug dealing gang on the run from police
'Angela went from being a bright, well-educated person to somebody who the last time she was seen, was sleeping in a shop doorway'
An fugitive former history teacher who got involved in a county lines drug dealing gang is on the run from police.
Described as "intelligent" by her family, Angela Davey had a successful career as secondary school teacher and had been happily married with two children.
But the 38-year-old from Norwich was left destitute and homeless after she became involved with a drugs gang dealing heroin and crack cocaine when her marriage broke down.
Police in Norfolk have now put out an appeal to find Davey after she failed to turn up to court to be sentenced for dealing cocaine.
She previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine after being snared by an undercover drugs operation.
Her family and friends have appealed for Angela to give herself up to the authorities.
"Angela went from being a bright, well-educated person to somebody who the last time she was seen, was sleeping in a shop doorway in Norwich," said a close family member, who asked not to be named. "She's hopelessly addicted to drugs."
He said feared the family would not get her back, adding: "Her brain has changed."
Davey had been due to appear at Norwich Crown Court along with David Teixeira, 19, from London, who was described as being the "branch manager" of the county lines gang, transporting drugs from the capital to London.
Jack Parrish, 26, from Norwich, was said to be the main local dealer on the streets, while Tara Kelf, 35, allowed her Norwich flat to be used as a base for the operation.
All three defendants admitted conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and were jailed for a total of 11 years.
A 39-year-old childhood friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that Angela was an "incredibly intelligent" woman.
Angela is reported to have studied history at university and trained as a teacher before working at Hewett Academy in Norwich, and then moved to work at a special needs school.
She is believed to have bought a house with her husband, with whom she had two children.
However, friends said her life took a sharp turn for the worse after her marriage broke down. She is said to have met a man on the dating app Tinder, and soon became embroiled in the world of drugs.
Her friend said: “If she continues in this lifestyle she will die.” She added that prison could be the only way to save her from potential death.
The former teacher reportedly ended up living in a camper van, before resorting to sleeping in a tent near a footpath.
Davey has links in Thrapston, in Northamptonshire and may also have travelled to London.
