Andrew Lindo: Killer who showed 'chilling lack of remorse' gets life
A womanising music teacher who strangled and stabbed his fiancée to death before hiding her body in a suitcase in his garage was jailed for life yesterday.
Andrew Lindo, 29, was told he would spend at least 22 years behind bars for murdering Marie Stewart, 30, while their two young children slept upstairs. Mr Justice Andrew Smith, at Bradford Crown Court, said Lindo had shown "extraordinary and chilling lack of remorse" over the murder, after which he went to collect his lover, Angela Rylance, and brought her back to the home in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.
The judge said the parole board would have to take into account his "extraordinary cunning and facility for deceit" before he was considered for release.
Lindo had denied murder but admitted manslaughter, claiming he had lost control during an argument on 18 December last year.
But the judge said it was a "cruel and sustained" attack on his partner, adding that the motive for the killing remained unclear.
