Amber Peat: 'Appalling' Facebook post falsely claiming schoolgirl was murdered is investigated by police
Amber's death is not being treated as suspicious

A social media post falsely claiming Nottinghamshire teenager Amber Peat had been murdered after her body was found is being investigated by police.
Amber, 13, disappeared after leaving her Mansfield home on Saturday 30 May after a minor row with her family, and her body was found on Tuesday evening.
Officers confirmed that a Facebook post claiming Amber would not be found alive because she had been murdered had been made around this time.
A police spokesperson said: "We are aware of an offensive Facebook post which was seen yesterday evening by many people supporting our efforts to find missing Amber Peat.
"We would like to let the public know we are robustly investigating and will work hard to bring to justice anyone who publishes such appalling posts to social media."
Amber's death is not being treated as suspicious, and Nottinghamshire police confirmed that she died as a result of hanging.
Superintendent Matthew McFarlane said: "Sadly this was not the outcome that any of us were hoping for."
Amber's mother Kelly Peat and her stepfather Danny said in a statement that they would always remember Amber for her love of singing and dancing.
"She was never happier than when reading to her younger sisters and being surrounded by her family," they said. "We will always be grateful for our last holiday with our beautiful daughter. We will always miss her."
