Actress awarded £10m in divorce from jeweller

A Greek-born actress has been awarded an estimated £10m in a divorce settlement from one of Britain's richest jewellers.

Zeta Graff, 33, who played a princess in The Fifth Element, was married to Francois Graff, 39, for nine years before the relationship broke down in 2001. In her legal battle for a share of the Graff family's £157m fortune she instructed lawyers to make a claim for £20m. But the couple agreed a £10m deal that allowed her to keep a large house in south-west London and a significant collection of jewellery. The award is one of the five biggest divorce settlements in British legal history, behind Rafael Lopez-Cambil and Paloma Picasso at £250m, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, at £17m.

Mr Graff is the son of Laurence Graff, the 204th richest man in Britain. Ms Graff is from one of the richest shipping families in Greece.
