Dublin District Court yesterday ordered the extradition to the United States of Peter Maguire, 56, alleged to be a senior IRA figure who was developing a missile to shoot down Army helicopters. Judge Peter Smithwick said the US authorities were to try Maguire on criminal charges, not for political offences.
