Andy Murray's hopes of becoming the first British winner of the men's singles in 76 years were brought to an end after he was beaten by Roger Federer in the final yesterday. The Scot took the opening set before being overwhelmed by his now 17-time Grand Slam-winning opponent, who prevailed 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.
