Weir takes fourth gold as Games draw to close

David Weir won his fourth gold medal of the London Games, taking the T54 marathon title on the Mall after emerging from the leading pack. The 33-year-old, who had already won 800m, 1,500m and 5,000m titles, was initially unaware he had prevailed. "I didn't know where the finishing line was," he said. "That's why I looked moody. I didn't know if it was the first or second line. Then I saw the lead car stop down the end of the Mall, so I thought, 'Maybe it's down there,' because there was no tape. It was tough, the toughest race I've ever had in my life."

Weir's feat, on the final day of the Games, helped him match Tanni Grey-Thompson as the only British track and field athletes to win four medals at a single Paralympics. Weir now has six golds overall, along with two silver and two bronze.

There was also success in the T54 women's marathon for Briton Shelly Woods, above, who won silver. The 26-year-old finished a second behind the American Shirley Reilly after disappointment earlier in the week on the track. MORE

Djokovic sets up Murray showdown

Novak Djokovic recovered from losing the first set to beat David Ferrer and secure a meeting with Andy Murray in tonight's final. Play was suspended on Saturday with Ferrer leading 5-2 but the defending champion turned the match around, winning 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. MORE

Briton Broady is beaten in boys' final

Liam Broady was unable to follow in the footsteps of Oliver Golding and Andy Murray at Flushing Meadows, going down in three sets to Filip Peliwo in the boys' final. The 18-year-old recovered from a poor start but lost 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. MORE

Collingwood tips T20 side for glory

Paul Collingwood says the England T20 team are better than the side he led to the world title in 2010. "England are in a good place," he said before this year's event. "They are better than [us] two years ago." MORE
