Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Tiger Woods appeared a man at peace last night as he began his latest assault on the Masters. The 14-time Major winner has six top-10 finishes in the last seven years at Augusta but has failed to take the final-day honours since 2005.
"Life is better now," Woods, above, said. "It is a beautiful juggling act. That's the joy in life, being part of [my kids'] life and watching them grow. Taking them on the golf course every now and again, they will have a great time. That's what it's all about."
One endorsement of Woods' chances came from 18-time Major winner Jack Nicklaus, whose record Woods is aiming to overhaul. "I still expect him to break my record," Nicklaus said. "He's just too talented, driven, and focused. He's 37. He's got to win five majors - a pretty good career for most people." MORE
