Flu vaccine supplies delayed by a month
Vulnerable patients may have to wait an extra month for their flu jabs this year because a Dutch pharmaceutical company has halted supplies. Crucell, which supplies 10 per cent of the UK's flu vaccines, said it was investigating an "unexpected test result" before releasing the jabs. MORE

'Supergrasses' see sentences slashed
Serious criminals have had their sentences slashed in return for turning "supergrass" despite reservations about their reliability. The BBC's Panorama and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism found hardened criminals saw their sentences cut by up to 90 per cent in an attempt to land bigger convictions, even when the cases they testified in subsequently collapse. A New Orleans city attorney was arrested for possession of marijuana and suspended from his job after a marijuana cigarette or joint tumbled from his pocket in front of police in court. Jason Cantrell, 43, assistant city attorney, was issued with a summons after the incident.
Casino refuses to pay poker star £7.3m
A casino in London's Mayfair is refusing to pay a poker star £7.3m in winnings. Phil Ivey, 35, played a private game of Punto Banco at the casino in August. Crockfords has returned Mr Ivey's £1m stake but is now interviewing staff and reviewing surveillance tapes. MORE

Thousands of music fans were left disappointed yesterday as tickets for Glastonbury sold out in a record 100 minutes. Organisers said they were "humbled" by the number of people who applied. There will be a second sale in April next year. MORE
Man defaces Tate Modern Rothko
A vandal defaced a painting thought to be worth tens of millions of pounds at the Tate Modern in London yesterday. The gallery said there was a "small area of black paint" on the work by the abstract artist Mark Rothko. MORE
