The former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson has had his Twitter account suspended. Robinson – real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – is in prison for fraud. A Twitter account in his name with more than 87,000 followers regularly posted updates of his time inside.
2,000 to remember Mandela at service
A memorial stone for Nelson Mandela is to be laid in Westminster Abbey. Almost 2,000 people are due to gather at the abbey for a memorial service to the late South Africa president. Prince Harry, David Cameron, and the Most Reverend Desmond Tutu will all be among them.
Woman dies after scissors left in womb
The National Commission of Human Rights is investigating two possible cases of negligence involving women giving birth, one of whom died. The woman died in Oaxaca on Tuesday, after slipping into a coma from an infection contracted when scissors were left inside her womb.

Mass protest against military service
Hundreds of thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews marched through Jerusalem yesterday protesting against moves to end their exemption from military service. A bill is making its way through the Knesset. Earthquake of 6.4 rocks Pacific coast
A 6.4-magnitude earthquake shook the Pacific coast of Nicaragua yesterday. The US Geological Survey said the tremor occurred about 14 miles offshore near the border with Honduras. Nicaragua’s civil defence office said there were no immediate reports of injuries or serious damage.
Hain in call for soldiers’ amnesty
The former Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain, has called for an amnesty for British soldiers involved in the 1972 Bloody Sunday killings. The MP said politicians should stop poring over atrocities, following the crisis sparked by the disclosure that suspects were sent letters saying they were no longer wanted. PAGE 9
Pharrell ‘Happy’ on top for third time
Pharrell Williams’s song “Happy” has topped the singles chart for a third time. He is only the third act in history to hit No 1 on three separate occasions with the same song. The other two acts were Frankie Laine in 1953, and Guy Mitchell in 1957.
Will Smith and son triumph at Razzies
Will Smith and son Jaden have been awarded worst supporting actor and worst lead actor respectively for the film After Earth. The duo also picked up the worst screen combo award in the “Razzies”, an LA ceremony ahead of last night’s Oscars.

The oldest person in the world has divulged the secret to a long life. Midao Okawa, a Japanese woman who turns 116 this week, said “You have to learn to relax.”
Thrill of the chill as sled-dog race starts
Competitors set off from a frozen lake yesterday for the start of Alaska’s famed Iditarod sled-dog race. The 1,000-mile race commemorates a 1925 rescue mission.
