Sixth-form grants

Sixth formers from deprived backgrounds should be entitled to "modest" financial help of about pounds 500 pounds a year to pay their way through school or college, a senior government advisor said.

A package of measures was also being considered to help teenagers with transport to lessons, Graham Lane told MPs.
