Sixth woman dies in Scottish jail

Labour last night demanded a government statement on the sixth death at Scotland's only women's prison in 15 months. The body of Yvonne Gilmour, 22, of Glasgow, was found in her cell at Cornton Vale Prison, near Stirling, on Christmas Eve. She was believed to have committed suicide.

A remand prisoner at Lincoln jail was found hanged in his cell on Christmas Eve. Paul Reilly, 44, from New Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, was facing a rape charge.
