Stephen Fry is getting married.

The British actor, 57, is set to wed his lover, stand-up comic Elliot Spencer, 27, in a private wedding.

Confirming the news on Twitter this morning, he wrote:

His forthcoming nuptials had been revealed in a report by the Daily Mail .

According to the publication, the pair struck up a relationship over the summer, but were pictured together for the first time in September. Just in case you care when they were first pictured together or something.

The happy couple, The Sun further alleges, have given in a formal notice to a registry office in Norfolk, near to where Fry was raised.

The two will likely marry in a year, before the notice expires.

Fry's personal assistant told PA the wedding was a private matter, adding: “Stephen Fry is very happy and proud to say that he has set the wheels in motion for a wedding some time in the future but no date has been set due to a busy work schedule.”
